December 8, 2025
Application season is rapidly approaching. Hopefully I can remind you of some of the opportunities as well as changes in a timely enough manner.
First of these is Idaho, and it is due December 15th
Idaho deer and elk tags were previously first come first served. The change for 2026 is a first ever drawing for nonresident general season tags.
Idaho has always had better odds for individual species because you could only apply for one species.

If you applied for a permit earlier, you could not apply for sheep, moose, mountain goat etc.
I am assuming that the general season draw does not trigger that rule, but the controlled draw later will, but not sure.
I have not applied for anything to make sure I have a chance to get a bighorn tag.
By the way, I have windows 11. Hope those of you that have it do better with it than I am!
